We practice consumer law, principally in areas related to finance and debt. This practice includes both defense of consumers sued to collect debts and suing to enforce consumers' rights under various consumer protection statutes. Our bankruptcy practice dovetails with our consumer practice, allowing us to provide advice and representation to consumers at all stages of difficulty with debt.
Consumers have rights, and we stand ready to enforce them. Whether it be abusive debt collection, fraud, unfair trade practices, or simply having the case against them proven in a court of law, we aggressively pursue all rights and remedies available to consumers. If you are being harassed by debt collector, you may have remedies under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act or the North Carolina debt collector statutes enabling you to halt the harassment and receive monetary compensation.
